Dear XylMust User & Xylem Anatomy Enthusiast,
This web-based platform is designed to automate as much as possible the analysis of plant vascular system.
I dreamed of having such a tool while analyzing xylem cross-sections, and I’m proud to have made it a reality!
XylMust extracts anatomical metrics from segmented xylem images, such as hydraulic conductivity, grouping index, and more.
The detection of vessel groups is based on the actual contours of the vessels, with the aggregation within groups is weighted by the diameter of each vessel.
Currently, you are accessing the beta version of XylMust which is free to use but limited in its ability to analyze large samples, such as whole stem cross-sections. Feel free to contact me if you need to perform such an analysis since it can be done offline, as a service.
I cannot guarantee persistence of your data on the platform at this stage, so I highly recommend you to download your results after each analysis is performed.
The final version will follow a pay-as-you-go model to cover the costs of the application's maintenance and the hosting infrastructure for analyzing large samples. However, these costs should remain minimal compared to the value provided and the time saved. Thank you for supporting XylMust by using it and providing me with constructive feedback!
A custom segmentation model can be trained on request to automate the preprocessing of your images. This approach will be cost-effective if you use standardized protocols for sample processing in your lab and plan to analyze large batches of images. Please contact me if you'd like to learn more about this service.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or need help, please don't hesitate to contact me at contact@xylmust.com.
I hope you'll enjoy using XylMust as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Best regards,
Jérôme Pouzoulet, PhD
